How to Pass the SSC Typing Test: A 30-Day Plan

Last updated: 2026-10-09

A practical 30-day plan to reach 35 WPM English or 30 WPM Hindi for the SSC CHSL typing test, with daily drills and mock tests.

Week 1: Fix your technique

If you still look at the keyboard, stop chasing speed and spend this week on the home row, top row and bottom row lessons. Fifteen minutes a day is enough. Your speed will drop at first; that is expected.

Week 2: Accuracy before speed

Take two-minute tests with error highlighting on. Your goal is 97% accuracy, not a high number. Note every word you get wrong and type it ten times.

Week 3: Build stamina

Move to five- and ten-minute tests. Use formal and office passages, which are closest to SSC text. Try a few tests with backspace off.

Week 4: Mock tests

Take a full ten-minute test every other day on the SSC CHSL page, sitting as you would in the exam centre. Aim for a few WPM above the target so you have a margin on the day.
