Clerical recruitment by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission puts Hindi typing first. For Junior Assistant and similar posts, candidates who clear the written test are called for a computer typing test in which Hindi speed is the main requirement. A Hindi speed of 25 words per minute and an English speed of 30 words per minute are the figures most often mentioned, and this page lets you practise both.

Hindi is the priority
Most UPSSSC aspirants learned Hindi typing on the Kruti Dev font with the Remington keyboard, the layout used on old typewriters and in many typing institutes in Uttar Pradesh. Others use Unicode with InScript or Remington Gail. All three are available here. Choose the one you will use on exam day and do not switch in the final weeks.
Our Kruti Dev mode accepts the same keystrokes you would type with the Kruti Dev font installed, including ि before the consonant and the reph (र्) after the syllable. The text is shown in Unicode, so you do not need the font on your computer.
Office Hindi vocabulary
Passages in state government typing tests are usually written in administrative Hindi: words such as अनुभाग, प्रस्ताव, स्वीकृति, कार्यवाही and निर्देश appear again and again. Conjuncts and half letters take extra keystrokes, so practising this vocabulary until it becomes automatic is the fastest way to raise your speed.
What you get after each test
- Net and gross WPM in Hindi, calculated on Unicode characters.
- A list of wrong, missing and extra words, so you can see which matras or conjuncts trip you up.
- A pass badge against 25 WPM (Hindi) or 30 WPM (English).
- Your history, saved on this device, to track progress week by week.
Tips to pass the UPSSSC typing test
- Learn the half-letter keys for your layout thoroughly; they appear in almost every sentence.
- In Kruti Dev and Remington, type ि before the consonant without pausing — hesitation there costs time.
- Practise anusvara and chandrabindu words separately; they are a common source of errors.
- Type the full 10 minutes at least three times a week before the test.
- If English is part of your notice, keep a short daily English session so you do not lose it.
