Office English

Junior Assistants prepare letters, orders and file notes. Typing passages are administrative English with capital letters for departments and designations, dates and reference numbers. Our office passages are a close match.

The test is qualifying, so build a safe margin above the minimum speed.

Accuracy and stamina

Keep accuracy above 95 percent and practise full ten-minute tests. If you can hold 40 WPM net for ten minutes, the real test should feel comfortable even with nerves.

Routine

  • One warm-up and one full test daily.
  • Weekly blind-mode test.
  • Track your progress page for steady gains.

Preparing alongside the written examination

The written examination decides who reaches the typing stage, so most candidates focus on it first. You do not have to choose between the two. The GK passages on this site cover polity, history, geography, science and computer topics that also appear in written papers. Typing one GK passage a day builds speed while revising facts. Add one office passage a day once the written result is near, so the administrative style of the real test feels familiar.

What to do if you are below the speed

If your net speed is still below 35 WPM a few weeks before the test, focus on accuracy for several days before pushing speed again. Uncorrected errors pull net speed down sharply, and reducing them often adds three to five words per minute without typing any faster.

Tips to pass the JKSSB typing test

  • Practise department names and designations with capitals.
  • Aim for 40 WPM net in practice.
  • Use backspace-off mode once a week.
  • Practise numbers and dates without looking down.
  • Sit upright and keep wrists level.
